Drugs
If you have a fever, take your fever medicine, same with sinus, and stomach. Take your doctor prescribed medicines, and follow all directions. You can’t, on the one hand, desire a better body, and on the other hand, take mind-altering drugs. Don’t ever take "poppers," inhalling chemicals for sexual enhancement; they destroy your immune system, make you look stupid, because you are, you’ve killed brain cells. If you think you need drugs for sexual dysfunction, seek professional answers, not a bottle of promises. Piercing and Tattoos
You are to follow Christ’s Law of Love. Therefore, you will not do things that abuse self, other people, or your body. Further, within that same Love law, you enjoy your liberties with responsibility, striving to live with others in harmony. Remember this before you consider decorating your body. If you have already, consider how to best present it. Never get body decorations to be rebellious, to make a statement, to be different, or to thumb your nose at society and culture. That goes against the Law of Love. Get one because you believe it would accentuate your body, and improve your appearance. If you are underage, don’t get anything without permission. If you are in a relationship, don’t get anything without consultation with your spouse. If you are planning on getting one, think about what it may look like thirty years from now, when you are old. Personally, I don’t care how cute a person is, if I discover a tattoo I am instantly turned off. The only tattoos I consider somewhat reasonable are artistic line bands with Celtic or geometric art, you see on the upper arm around the bicep. Other styles completely turn me off. It would be easier to live with a generic geometric design twenty years from now, than a faded blurry sagging dolphin. The best tattoos are the ones God gives you... freckles. I have my ears pierced, and doubt I could anywhere else. I almost fainted. The most common are ears and nipples. Elsewhere, there are higher hygiene and infection risks.
Just remember that other people have to look at or live with your piercings and tattoos. Gay Christian be sober, and temper yourself with moderation.
Skin Care
If you are a man, don’t be afraid to use professional facial products. I use them even when I am dressing at the Gym. Some men may stare, but that’s their problem; meanwhile, I continue to look young and they look old. Don’t be shy when you approach the cosmetic counter in a store to buy skin care products. Though they mostly sell to women, they will appreciate a man who cares about his skin, and will bend over backwards to help you. If you are a woman, ask questions; don’t assume your mother knew everything about skin care, or that you know either. They are professionals for a reason, and their suggestions are not criticisms, but ideas to make you look and feel better. The goal is to for your skin to retain moisture. If you do, it will continue to remain and look young. Supplement and moisturize your skin with lotions. Use special ones for the bottoms of your feet, where your heels get dry and thick. I enjoy one for feet that has peppermint oil, a cooling yet warm scent. No one likes rough hands. Whether you’re a man or a woman, get the hint. Use basic lotions for hands and body. My favorite has a green tea scent, calming and smooth. There are masculine scents for men, floral scents for women. Try not to buy a scent that will interfere with your cologne or perfume. For the face, there’s nothing better than Oil of Olay. If you can’t afford it, use generic forms of it. A bottle will last a long time. Use it before bedtime, a small bead of lotion along the side of your eyes, where crow’s feet develop, on your cheeks, and along the creases on either side of your mouth. You can’t prevent wrinkles, but daily skin moisturizing care will lessen their effect and give you healthy glowing skin. Use it regularly, and you could continue to look younger than you are. If you need further assistance, I suggest, for men and women, Clinique brand products; Anti-Gravity Firming Lift Cream I do not wash my face, it strips my face of its natural oils dries it out. After I shower, I wipe my face, removing the excess oils, with the already damp bath towel. Even after I shave, I just wipe off the excess shaving cream. If you do need a cleanser for your face, to remove dirt and excess oils, then I recommend using Noxzema, or some astringent product, never soap. Afterwards, re-moisturize your skin to restore the moisture and oils you removed. If you have an ache outbreak, use Oxy-10 or similar medications, but remember such medications dry the skin, and moisturize accordingly. If it is severe, consult your physician; there are prescription medications available to help. Basically, know your facial skin. If you have excessively oily skin, you may need to use products to remove that excess oil, or medium to dry skin, leave on your natural oils like I do. It’s the moisture level you need to watch and maintain. Clean your face of dirt and excess oil daily. Every week you want to "exfoliate." This means scrubbing away dead skin. You can use professional facial scrubs. Don’t scrub hard; scrub gently. Once a month, or when you have the money, consider a facial, even if you are a man; pamper yourself now and then. If you wear foundation, it should not be thick, and it should not stop at your jaw line, blend it down into your neck. Choose a shade that compliments the color of the rest of your skin; the purpose is to cover imperfections, not change the color of your face. A man can wear foundation for the same reasons, but generally not if he has facial hair. If you wear blush, please feather the edges of it into your face, not a bright patch on your cheekbones. Blush color should be slightly redder or more orange than the foundation you use, not bright colors. Men generally do not wear blush. If you want to tan, wear sun block lotion when working outside, always. Not only does it prevent skin cancer, it prevents the sun from drying your skin, too. Recognize your heritage and skin type. Some people just cannot tan, or can never get very dark. Don’t compare yourself to other people, your health is more important than vanity. If you cannot tan in the sun, you will not tan in a tanning salon. Also, tanning salon machine have highly concentrated tanning rays, so be careful.
Eyes
If you’re eyes are puffy or starting to sag underneath, consider an eye firmly cream. I prefer Clinque brand; try Anti-Gravity Firming Eye Lift to lessen wrinkles and firm the skin under your eyes. You put just a bead of lotion under each eye morning and night. Unless you have black hair, it’s not natural to wear black eye liner or black mascara. I recommend brown or brown/black mascara if you wish to emphasize your eyes when wearing formal wear or on a coat and tie affair. Eye shadow cream looks better than powder; powder accents wrinkles. Use it on the center of the eyelid and feather it outward to the edges. Do not apply it all the way up to meet your eyebrows, or out on to your cheeks. You are not a clown. If you are a man, yes, you can wear mascara and eye shadow. The goal is to make it look like you are not wearing it; so, wear it sparingly. Chose brown mascara, and brown, gold, silver, or bronze eye shadow colors. Get your sleep and you’ll have less red eyes, too.
Nose, Eyebrows and Ears
Women should not shave their eyebrows; it’s not natural. But, whether you are a man or a woman, shape your eyebrows. You can do this yourself or have your hair care professional do it for you. Men should have two eyebrows, not one; get the hint. Use tweezers or a razor to shorten hairs or remove them to shape your eyebrows to the natural contour of your eyes. If you color your hair, color your eyebrows to match. People will be less likely to think you’ve colored your hair, assuming the color of your eyebrows is your natural color. If you want to give your eyebrows some shape, or a more groomed look, whether a man or a woman, try this trick. Buy clear mascara, and brush it through your eyebrows, giving it your desired grooming shape. It will dry clear, stiff, but not hard.
Lips
If you are a man, you can wear lipstick, but the goal is to not look like you do. You can do this by choosing a natural flesh color, or a light gold or bronze shade. Or you can use a liquid gloss, to give your lips a full wet look. If you are a woman, a lipstick brush gives more control than a stick. Use the brush to outline your lips first, and then fill in. Use a mix of a lighter and darker shade of the same color on your lips to give real depth and definition to your lips. Your lips are sign of your body’s hydration level. Dry, pealing lips can mean you are not getting enough liquids in your body. See Also: Books: Athletic, Health, Medical.
