firmly believe we are triune, just like God. God is Father, Son, and Spirit. We are Spirit, Soul, and Body. We often devote our lives to our soul and body, forgetting the spirit. But, those of us who are Gay or Lesbian Christians, we sometimes forget the body, too. All three must be in balance. So, make sure your body is as healthy as your spirit and your soul.
eople write me now and then and complain about "certain pictures" on the website, pictures of people, and pictures of ME "supposedly" unclothed. They think it is not Christian, or sinful, and I have a problem. I remind them WHY these pictures appear. The photographs used here relate to the topic discussed, to show the muscle groups involved, or to show athletic development. People see what they see; I sometimes believe their objections actually reveal their true hearts. So, I remind you, too, to have a proper and healthy perspective on art and photography, for rarely are they the problem; instead, the problem lies in the heart of the viewer.

 | ear cotton clothing. Gym clothing that has that slick shiny feel look nice, but they are not cool to wear; they’re hot, they don’t breathe nor absorb moisture. Cotton absorbs sweat, is soft, and comfortable. Wear loose fitting clothing in the gym, ease of movement is more important than fashion… well, almost. |
They may be your favorite shorts and T-shirt, but maybe they’ve both seen better days. Don’t wear to the Gym torn or worn out clothing.
| People have to look at you, so give them a nice view. Wear clothing that is functional and flattering for you. | |
 | Here are few of the brands of athletic clothing I wear or recommend. Many carry a line of women’s athletic clothing. They either have their own stores and websites, or are found at quality department stores. |
Abercrombie and Fitch,
Tommy Hilfiger,
Old Navy,
American Eagle Outfitters,
UnderGear,
HE Swim Wear.
 | | Pictured above and below here are some examples of my favorite gym clothing, athletic clothes I actually wear. Some I just wear when doing cardio, others while lifting weights. I do not sweat very much, so I get very warm while working out. So, in my case, the less clothing the better. I usually wear sleeveless shirts or tops, and shorts. My favorite style of shorts is lace-up. Others I wear are longer in the leg. All that I wear are always cotton. | |
Women wear a sports bra underneath or in place of your gym clothing shirt top. If you do not, you can risk injury. You can also find yourself watched the entire time you are working out because your "breasts are bouncing up and down;" trust me, they do and people will watch "them." Also, on more than one occasion, I have seen a woman "pop out" of her shirt top while working out; very embarrassing. Truthfully, people are watching you, and you choose what you reveal and the results you get from doing so.
 | | Most men do not wear jock straps anymore. Some men wear thong underwear underneath their gym shorts or athletic pants. Others wear boxers. If you are involved in athletic activities in which may risk injury or body contact, then wear a jock or protective strap. Whatever you choose to wear, wear comfortable cotton undergarments, which absorbs moisture. | |
I do not recommend wearing novelty underwear under your gym clothing, similar to what is shown here, i.e. underwear with specially placed zippers or velcro, words like "big package delivery," pictures like bananas, valentine hearts, lipstick, leopard spots, or zebra stripes, etc. In most cases, you do not look sexy, you look silly, or you look pathetic like someone trying to be a stripper. If you do not want people to laugh or stare, you should especially not reveal wearing novelty underwear in the locker room.
| If you choose to wear nothing at all underneath your gym clothing, like I do, take into consideration whether they are see through, or someone can see you up the leg when you are lying down on a bench, squatting, or lifting. | |
I have accidentally turned my head and inadvertently learned what is "under there" (and if you are a woman that is way more than I want to know).
 | Gym Shoes and Socks |
 | | Wear a clean pair of socks every trip to the Gym. Wear socks that wick away moisture, keeping your feet dry; cotton socks are a good choice for athletic use. |
 | | Don’t wear the same sneakers or gym shoes to the Gym day after day, get another pair, and rotate them. They need to dry out between wear, to prevent bacterial growth, odor and soiling. Wear shoes that fit, especially if you are going to be running, walking, or using the treadmill. |
It’s generally not smart to work out in the Gym wearing sandals. You might be careful, but someone else could drop a weight on your foot.
Wear shower shoes in the showers and wet areas, for safety, and to prevent athlete’s foot.
Other Gym Clothes
 | It’s easier to dress is layers, taking off outer sweatshirts, or sweatpants, leaving you in t-shirts and shorts, than it is to show up with too little and be cold. |
If you are not going to shower at the Gym, bring a change of clothing anyway, so you are not damp, sweaty, or chilled going home.
You may need to wear water-proof clothing or swimwear, if you are required to wear clothing when in the whirlpool, sauna, steam room, etc.
If you buy sweatpants, buy the type that has zippers at the bottom of each leg; they’re easy to get off over your shoes.
 | Buy a pair of weight-lifting gloves; they don’t have fingertips. They will prevent you from getting calluses on the palms of your hands, and help you steady your grip on the weights. |
and chat with me about gym clothes.
Do your laundry regularly.
