veryone seems to "know" what Christianity is, but few can agree about how to live it. It's easy if you follow the original model, Jesus; it's easy to get off base if you take your focus off of Him. Much of what people think is Christianity is really religion. There is a difference. If you are not sure what the differences are, I suggest you read my article True Verses False Christianity, and then return to these pages to learn how to live a healthy and productive Christian Life.

aptism with water is one of the first actions taken by a Gay Christian. Through Baptism you publicly show your identification with Christ in His death and raised with Him to Life anew. Churches and Denominations practice different ways of Baptism, some anoint the person with water, others completely immerse the person in water, etc. The way you are baptized is not as important as being baptized. Many Churches and Denominations have different requirements for the rite of Baptism, i.e. become a member of that particular Church or Denomination, go through classes to affirm to their satisfaction you are really Christian, or they may tell you Baptism is a requirement to know God, though Baptism is not generally believed necessary to know God (for this was achieved fully through Christ, and not by any works or deeds on our part). If you were baptized as a child or infant, dedicated to the Lord, and have now accepted Christ's Love or rededicated your life to God, you should be baptized again. Baptism is an important rite all Gay Christians should experience after salvation. Therefore, seek out an affirming Church or Denomination or someone in the ministry with whom you can share your faith in Christ and request Baptism in water. Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12.
Jesus said not only should you be baptized in water but in the Holy Spirit, too. Being a new Gay Christian and water baptized is like an empty glass now filled with water, you are filled with God; being Baptized with the Holy Spirit is like taking that full glass of water and dropping it in a bucket of water, you are filled, surrounded and empowered with the Spirit of God. Just as you asked God to come and live with you, ask God to now fill you with the Holy Spirit to teach, guide and empower you in all things of Christ and what you need to live. Just as your new relationship with God was a choice, so your growth and maturity in Christ remains a choice. Matthew 3:11; John 3:5; Acts 1:5; 2:38.
Pray to God and ask God to Spirit Baptize you. Water Baptism before Spirit Baptism is not necessary, we have the story of Peter's witness to the first non-Jewish converts to Christianity as a testimony to this fact, but both are such a blessing and touch from God. Acts 10:1-48.
