veryone seems to "know" what Christianity is, but few can agree about how to live it. It's easy if you follow the original model, Jesus; it's easy to get off base if you take your focus off of Him. Much of what people think is Christianity is really religion. There is a difference. If you are not sure what the differences are, I suggest you read my article True Verses False Christianity, and then return to these pages to learn how to live a healthy and productive Christian Life.

eople will tell you how a Gay Christian should or shouldn't talk, act or live, and some of them will be Scriptural, but others will just be their prejudices, fears, beliefs, social customs, opinions, legalism.
So then, how should a Gay Christian live? Hard question, easy answer: "Like Jesus;" the word "Christian" means "Little Christ," and when people see you they should see Jesus Christ. If they don't then they just see "little." In everything you are and do, simply abide in Christ, walk in His Love.
Because we all have known people who call themselves "Christians" and yet act contrary to Christ and Love (sometimes because of omission, ignorance, immaturity; or, sadly, sometimes because of fears, bigotry, hate, selfishness), many of us have "thrown the baby out with the bathwater," given up on God and the Church. This is especially true with Gay Christians, for many gay and lesbians have been hurt by so-called "Christians" and Churches, a deeply felt rejection and hurt. Many gays and lesbians are very spiritually hungry, desiring to know God and fellowship with godly people, and because of the rejection or misunderstanding of Churches, sadly they turn to other "religions" and mystical practices. If "Christians" or Churches have ever hurt you, ask God to cleanse your heart of any bitterness or hatred, fill your heart with compassion, love and a desire for them to know the Truth of the Gospel.
If I ask you to take ten boards and saw each to the same length, you measure and cut the first and then use the first board as a guide to measure and cut all of the other boards, all will be the same length. But, if you take the first cut board and use it to measure the next, then take the second board and use it to measure the third, on down the line, when you cut the tenth board it will be off by almost a quarter of an inch. You should pattern your life after the original board, Jesus Christ, and not on the people around you.
Often what people call Holiness is Legalism, trying to place Gay Christians back under the Law from which they were freed through Christ's Love. The Law was given to show you are unable to keep it, in need of a higher power to empower you to live the life God wants for you. Now, as a Gay Christian, you are no longer under the Law, but under Grace and the Law of Christ, the Law of Love. If you try under your own strength to live anew, grow and mature, you will be putting yourself back under the Law, trying gain it under your own power. The Law was fulfilled in Christ. The Law is now written on your heart; and the Holy Spirit lives within you, leading you in all Truth, empowering you with God's Love to fulfill the Law. Romans 6:15; 10:4; 13:8,10; I Cor. 13:1-13; Galatians 3:1-3; 5:1, 14; Ephesians 4:14-15.
If you walk in Love, abide in Christ, cease from labor, you will fulfill the Law without effort or thought. All things are now lawful in Christ, but not all things edify or bring growth and maturity. If you walk in Love, the things you do and the person you are will be right, centered, at peace. If you walk in Love, you will not steal, kill, use or abuse other people or yourself. If you walk in Love you will be generous, kind, caring, helpful, supportive of people and God. All of these things Jesus did and still does today through the lives of true Gay Christians. I Cor. 6:12; 10:23; Jude 21.
Gay Christians are called to be Holy as God is Holy. Holiness is not what you do, but who you are, and who you are will determine what you do. Many people live outward lives that appear holy, seem to obey all the rules, yet inwardly they walk not in Love, their attitudes wrong. If you were my son and daughter, and I asked you to take out the trash every day, and you faithfully did so, I would probably tell everyone what a wonderful and obedient son or daughter I have. Unknown to me, however, is deep in your heart, you hate taking out the trash and resent me "forcing" you. On the outside, you appear pure, but your heart deceives, shows your true nature. God looks not on the outward appearance, but on the heart. Do not look at others and measure them by what they do, but whom they are inside. Do not spend time introspectively seeking wrong in yourself that needs correction. Wait on God; God will point out the areas of your life needing renewal, the closets that need cleaning out, the rooms that need renovation, the new rooms to be added in your home. I Samuel 16:7b; Romans 8:13, 14, 16; II Cor. 10:7; Ephesians 1:4; Hebrews 8:10-12.
Therefore, Gay Christians shall set aside all things that are not in accordance with the Law of Christ, the Law of Love, looking at everything done and said in an attitude of whether or not they reflect Christ. Be Holy as your Parent is Holy. If it is your goal as a Gay Christian to look like Jesus, then you should prepare to be rejected and crucified like Jesus. God's Love does not demand you to change, serve and live differently than before; God's Love changes you and enables you to live anew, even when rejected by those who do not understand or care. Romans 14:19; Galatians 5:16-25.
